Solarventi - dehumidifier, heater, ventilator & cooler

The solar-powered fresh, dry and warm air producer, that protects your home and family’s health

Warm up caravans Solar Venti warms the house

Everyone is familiar with solar panels that produce hot water or electricity. Now comes the solar collector that heats air. The unit produces warm air that can be used for space heating and to cure condensation. Powered completely by the sun, it costs nothing to run. The unit circulates warm, dry, fresh air to create a living space free from odours, water vapor and carbon dioxide.

Applications include:
  • Where houses smell musty, and feel cold and damp throughout winter
  • For residences that are unoccupied, or left closed all day for security
  • For energy efficient buildings that are tightly sealed and lack fresh air
  • Where houses have damp sub-floors, and mould, rising damp and rotting floors are a problem.
  • For cold rooms, or parts of the house that just never seem to get warm
  • Warming the house by day, to reduce the time and cost of heating for the evening

Produced in Denmark, SolarVenti has more than 12,000 units in service throughout Scandinavia. Units are now being exported throughout Europe, Australia and New Zealand. They come in four sizes ranging from 720 x 540 mm to 3000 x 1020 mm, are only 100 mm in depth, and the largest unit weighs less than 30 kg.
The units have no external power or plumbing connections, and can be installed by a reasonably competent handyman.

Collectors may be mounted on a north facing roof in the same way as hot water or photo voltaic solar panels, or on an outside wall. Insulated flexible duct conveys the heated air into the house, where it is dispersed through a ceiling or wall mounted diffuser.

A solar powered fan draws air through the back of the unit, passing it across a black felt mat and discharges the heated air into the house. A built in photo voltaic panel powers the fan, that is mounted inside the unit casing. Air passing through the unit cools the photo voltaic cells, helping to extend their life. This results in a useful life of the entire unit in excess of 15 years.

Each collector is supplied with an on / off switch to stop the fan from running when outside conditions are too hot. Larger units are supplied with a fan speed regulator and thermostat to give better control of indoor conditions.

Regulator unit

The SV Regulator unit includes an on/off switch, fan speed regulator, pump control and thermostat.
It is a new and improved electronic control box, developed for smooth operation of the SolarVenti.
The case of the SV regulator is made from brushed aluminum and black plastic. It contains controls for several different functions, which are used for the various different SolarVenti solar air collector models.

Now less sunlight is required to start the system. The SolarVenti solar air collector will start up at the slightest indication of the sun, even if it is hidden behind a thin layer of cloud before the blue sky becomes visible. The SV regulator unit also makes that the system's fan to work with very smooth, gradual transitions. If you listen closely to the SV solar air collector's injection air vent in the house, the increase or decrease in the rotation speed of the fan (which depends on the strength of the sun) will be heard as a soft, quiet whirr.

Wall Air Extraction kit

The SolarVenti Wall Air Extraction kit is suitable for extracting heat, steam and smells from a room or living space. The quiet fan runs either directly from a solar panel (not included) or via an optional switch or thermostat.

Parts included in the kit are 180 x 190 mm square grate, Ø 125 mm inlet connector, 250 mm Aluflex pipe, 250 mm steel ventilator pipe with fan, reverse damper, injector nozzle and installation instructions.

Can be run from a SV30 regulator, or using a separate 12 watt solar panel and switch.

Roof Penetration kit

The SolarVenti Roof Penetration kit is used for converting the wall extractor kit into a ceiling extractor and ventilating out through the roof space. It comes in two versions - suitable for metal or tiled roofs, and easily converts the Wall Extraction Kit into an effective ceiling air extraction system, removing the very hottest air fron the room, up near the ceiling..

Parts included in the kit are Metal weather cap and 160 mm chimney, Weatherproof roof seal 450 x 620 mm, 1250 mm Aluflex pipe, set of mounting screws and installation instructions.

In-Ground cooling kit

The SolarVenti In-ground cooling kit is used for drawing incoming cooled air, cooled by passing through a network of buried polypipe tubes, into the house. It comes ready to install, complete with insect screens and easy to follow installation instructions.

Parts included in the kit are 2 x 300 mm Ventilator pipes, 2 x 650 mm Vertical connecting pipes, 1.5 m horizontal pipe, 90 degree bend, pipe coupling, filter to keep out insects, fan in metal tube, weatherproof cap for the inlet pipe, valve frames and screws, injection nozzle, Aluflex pipe, 25 mm plastic plugs and 125 m roll of 25 mm ribbed polypipe
