Safety

All Latronics inverters have an isolation rating of 3500V between AC and DC via the toroidal transformer, which ensures extremely safe and risk free operation.
All the switching electronics and control circuitry are on the DC input.
The inverter AC output is connected directly to the transformer output winding.
Latronics inverters have the AC output (active and neutral) floating with respect to the DC and the earth. The earth connection is connected to the case only. This configuration provides the highest safety and the most flexibility for installation wiring.

• Latronics inverters mode of operation is continuously displayed on the front panel  by the four LED indicators. On/Standby, Overtemp/Overload, Overvolts and Undervolts.



• Latronics inverters are built for extreme environments by using a recyclable powdercoated aluminium casing, a more noble metal than steel.



• Latronics inverters offer a high surge rating to endure the starting of the most demanding appliances. They also have a generous half hour rating to enable the operation of larger loads for short periods.



• To protect your battery from excessive discharges, the inverter will disconnect if the battery voltage falls below 75% of the nominal battery voltage. When starting a big load on a small battery, the inverter might shut down in undervolts. To eliminate this, the instantaneous undervolts can be disabled.



• When the inverter is operating unattended it may be necessary to ensure the continuity of supply. The Automatic Reset feature (when enabled), will attempt to restart the inverter every eight minutes should a fault condition cause the inverter to shutdown. This feature can be turned ON or OFF, depending on system requirements

Inverter - chargers The Compact series offers a breakthrough in remote power. Utilising existing circuitry to turn the inverter into a high quality battery charger when mains or a generator input is available. In one space-saving package you have: A high quality True Sine Wave Inverter High Capacity 3-stage battery charger 40Amp AC load transfer switch Saves space Reduces weight. Reduces installation costs. Saves you money. The Compact will perform normally as an excellent stand alone inverter, and battery voltage and other important system parameters will be monitored by the inverter. At a preset low voltage the inverter will close a set of voltage free contacts to call for the starting of a remote generator, or for grid power. Once the inverter sees this AC source is stable it will switch the load to Generator/grid power. Maximum transfer time is just .05 seconds. The Compact will use the external AC power source to charge the batteries, at up to 80 amps. The charging will continue strongly and safely until the batteries are full. When charging is complete the Compact will turn off the external AC source and resume operation as a stand alone inverter. Applications - Remote Area Power systems using a diesel generator as the external AC source - Motorhomes using generator or grid power as the external AC source - Boats using generator or shore power as external AC source - Domestic Homes, running a dedicated circuit from the Horizon and solar modules to charge the battery - If the batteries need to be recharged an external contactor will apply grid power to charge the batteries. This system is an excellent alternative to a grid feeding inverter where stand-by battery back-up may not be otherwise available.

Care should be taken that the rated power of an appliance does not exceed the continuous power rating of the inverter. Some products require a very large starting current, and in this case a larger Mobile Power inverter should be selected.
