Inverter - chargers
The Compact series offers a breakthrough in remote power. Utilising existing circuitry to turn the inverter into a high quality battery charger when mains or a generator input is available.
At a preset low voltage the inverter will close a set of voltage free contacts to call for the starting of a remote generator, or for grid power. Once the inverter sees this AC source is stable it will switch the load to Generator/grid power. Maximum transfer time is just .05 seconds. The Compact will use the external AC power source to charge the batteries, at up to 80 amps. The charging will continue strongly and safely until the batteries are full. When charging is complete the Compact will turn off the external AC source and resume operation as a stand alone inverter. Applications - Remote Area Power systems using a diesel generator as the external AC source - Motorhomes using generator or grid power as the external AC source - Boats using generator or shore power as external AC source - Domestic Homes, running a dedicated circuit from the Horizon and solar modules to charge the battery - If the batteries need to be recharged an external contactor will apply grid power to charge the batteries. This system is an excellent alternative to a grid feeding inverter where stand-by battery back-up may not be otherwise available. |
