Solar Ventilation and Cooling

1. Solar Heat Extraction kits

Heat Extraction kits make a huge difference to the comfort level of your home.

Just choose the hottest part of the house, or the main living area, and ventilate the highest part of the ceiling.

Choosing somewhere central will best ventilate a large living area.

For Double story, ventilating the upstairs landing or bedrooms will result in the whole of the upstairs area becoming more livable.   It will also result in the downstairs area becoming more comfortable, as the hottest air is drawn upstairs and expelled, and replaced with cool, fresh air.

The complete ventilation system is relatively cheap, and costs nothing at all to run, ever, once installed.

It can dramatically reduce the household air-conditioning bill to just a fraction of the usual cost, because most days the living area will be comfortable, and the air conditioner will not be needed.

The most popular systems use the 150mm 16w DC fan to remove the hottest air from ceiling height.  They run directly from roof-mounted solar panels, through a thermostat which is used to automatically regulate the temperature.

They cost absolutely nothing to run.

The stale, warm air is quietly expelled to the outside, using flexible 150mm duct.

The kits are available in different models, based upon the airflow requirements.

The solar panels may be mounted on the roof, or on a convenient north-facing wall.  The closer the solar panel faces towards the sun, the better will be the performance of the fan.

2. Cool Air Transfer Kits

Solar-powered transfer of cool air from under the house or another convenient place, can be easily installed using a very similar kit to the heat extraction kits shown above.

Usually the same type of fan, thermostat and ducting are used, and the cool air fan can be operated from its own solar panel, or a larger one that can be used for two fans.

Two methods of operation

Mini Whiz units are capable of ventilation either through air extraction or by introducing fresh air.

By combining extraction and introduction of fresh air, superior cross flow ventilation can be achieved when multiple units operate together.

Supplied with a re-chargeable battery – enabling the unit to run day and night to optimise the air quality in your chosen location.

No wiring, no plugs, no noise, and once installed no running cost whatsoever, and at a low competitive price – Mini Whiz could be the ideal solution to your ventilation problem.

5. Solar Boat Ventilator

Applications include Boats (unit is waterproof), Caravans, Trailers and Vans etc.

If you own a boat – you know how difficult it is to keep it fresh and free of musty smells.   You probably try to keep port-holes open to get a bit of air flowing through the cabin – or you may even have a small heater running constantly.   Leaving hatches open when you are not using the boat may help – but exposes you to other risks.

The key to avoiding musty smells and prevent mould and mildew from developing is ventilation – ideally cross flow ventilation.   The specially designed low profile Micro Whiz from Solar Whiz can be installed on any boat to ensure you have a ventilated and mould free environment.

The Micro Whiz is elegantly designed to prevent water entering the boat through the fan, which will only happen if the fan is completely submerged. To ensure maximum performance the micro Whiz is equipped with a rechargeable battery that enables the fan to run constantly to ensure the boat is ventilated around the clock.

The Micro Whiz is also whisper quiet.

Try this compact solar air ventilation system in your boat – you will be amazed how much more effective a small active ventilation system is than relying on a passive system of vents – and wonder why you didn’t do it earlier!

This solar ventilator has inbuilt battery so that it can run day and night, removing hot and stuffy air all the time.

Switch inside can turn off the unit when not required to run.

6. Solar Car Ventilator - mounts in the window of your car, and keeps it cool while you are out shopping.

Car-Whiz-Complete

Simple to install and remove, this solar powered fan will reduce the inside temperature of your car when parked in the sun.

It blows the hot air out of the car and makes the task of cooling it down much faster.   Although the car may still be warm when you enter it– the car will not be nearly as hot as without the Car Whiz.

7. Solar In-ground Cooling System

This cooling system uses the cooling effect of lower ground temperature to reduce the temperature indoors.

The In-Ground Cooling System cools your house or office by drawing fresh cooled air in through a series of pipes burried undergroud.

Ideally the air intake should be in a cool, shaded area outside, and the pipes installed in slightly damp ground e.g. where a garden is watered, as the evaporation of any moisture helps the performance of the cooling sytem. The Ground cooling sytem has proved very effective in Australian conditions, not only helping you to keep cool, but also ensuring good ventilation throughout summer.

Every installation is different, however based on customer feedback, the average system on a hot 35 degrees day supplies about 21 degrees cool air into your home without any running cost or carbon emmissions.

See complete In-ground cooling kit details here.
