The Excel is not only our best-selling unit, but also the first self-contained composting toilet to be certified by NSF (National Sanitation Foundation) in 1989. Since then, we have made many modifications to improve performance in all three chambers - evaporation, composting, and finishing. When you purchase an Excel, you are purchasing the composting toilet that sets the standard.
The Excel is also ideal for cottage use as the primary toilet at your camp or cabin, or for light commercial or workplace use. The 50 mm vent is attached at the top back of the unit and can be installed invisibly by running it through the wall and up the outside wall. For comfort the Excel has a sturdy detachable footrest which can be removed to pull out the finishing drawer. Although the Excel can normally evaporate all liquids, a 13 mm drain is fitted at the rear and this should be connected to a nearby trench to remove any excessive moisture so that the composting process is optimised.

The success of the Excel design meant that a three chamber unit could be specifically designed for those with no continuous 240 volt power. First launched in 1981, the Excel NE has long been the standard toilet for those living off the grid. A 1998 redesign gave the unit a rounded look, and recessed the drum handle. The Excel NE has no fan or heater. Odorless operation is achieved by a 100 mm
vent mounted at the top rear of the unit which acts like a chimney on a wood
stove. For good air movement the vent should be installed vertically and to 0.8 metres above the peak of the roof.
If the Excel NE is used residentially or heavily, or is in a place which is subject to downdrafts, the optional 12 volt fan should be installed in the vent stack. The fan draws 1.4 watts and can be powered by a solar panel and 12 volt deep cycle battery. Evaporating capacity on the Excel NE is variable, so the 1" drain at the rear should be connected to an approved drain pit, container, or other facility. The Excel AC/DC is a standard 240 volt Excel unit, but with 25 mm safety drains at the rear and dual (50 mm and 100 mm) vent stacks. The unit uses the regular 50 mm vent when 240 Volt power is available and defaults to the 100 mm NE vent when it is not. A 12 volt 1.4 watt fan is included for use in the 100 mm vent stack. The Excel AC/DC is for those with generators operating over 12 hours per day, or for people that expect to have continuous 240 volt power available in the future. The 25 mm overflow drain on the Excel AC / DC should be connected if the unit is being used in AC mode, and always must be connected if it is being used in the non-electric mode.

The Excel Marine is a system specifically designed by Sun-Mar for use in boats. It has all the features of a standard Excel plus a few additional ones to make it seaworthy. The Excel Marine can handle up to 4 people in full time use or up to 8 people on a part - time basis. The Excel Marine has the unique three chamber processing system including the patented Bio-drum. It is a stand alone single unit composting toilet with a high gloss white fibreglass casing. The Excel Marine is superior to other self - contained products because it uses a rotating drum to mix and aerate the waste, rather than a mixing bar or rake. The drum ensures optimum composting by providing the best composting conditions.
Like the standard Excel, the Excel Marine comes with a 220 volt heater to improve the composting conditions. It also includes a 12 volt heater for use when there is no 220 volt power available. A 12 volt fan with a filter is also included to remove odours via a 75 mm vent pipe. The fan filter consists of activated carbon and zeolite materials which "scrub" the air of fresh ammonia odours, ensuring odour-free operation at deck level. The Excel Marine vent pipe comes out of the top of the system which allows the toilet to sit flush against the wall of the toilet room thus conserving space. Along with speeding up the composting process and removing odours, the fan and 220 volt heater act to evaporate all of the liquid waste produced. However, when at sea (away from 220 volt power) it may be necessary to connect the system to a small container or small holding tank to collect any liquid waste that fails to evaporate. Due to possible violent motion at sea, the finishing drawer of the Excel Marine has been gasketed to ensure that no liquid can escape from the evaporating chamber. The air intakes have also been located higher up and ducted down to the evapourating chamber. Strong mounting brackets have also been fixed to the system to ensure that the toilet is firmly fixed to the floor and won't tip over in rough conditions. A drum lock keeps the composting drum upright under all sea conditions. EXCEL Marine Price :- $2765 (Brisbane), $2840 (Sunshine Coast), $2895 (Melbourne) |

The Excel Mobile is a smaller version of the Marine which only employs a 12 Volt fan and heater and is ideal for small boats on short trips. The capacity is 3 - 4 people for weekend and vacation use and 1 - 2 on a permanent basis.
It is also ideal for use in larger caravans, mobile homes and camper vans - no more regular emptying of containers full of chemicals at dump pits ! The waste just composts away over time, and the finishing drawer material resembles potting mix. No pump-outs! Recycling brings freedom. This is the original composting toilet for mobile and marine applications, no mess and no fuss, no changing containers, no pouring out urine. Self-contained and with minimal maintenance, it works like a charm!
EXCEL Mobile Price :- $2200 (Brisbane), $2270 (Sunshine Coast), $2320 (Melbourne) Due to demand cycles, there can be delays in supplying this model. Please order early to avoid any inconvenience. |

When used occasionally by up to 7 - 9 adults, compost will normally only need removing annually each spring. In residential use compost will have to be extracted more frequently. The Centrex 2000 NE is fitted with a 100 mm vent stack. Installation of a 12 volt fan is optional, but it is recommended for heavy seasonal use, and continuous residential use, or where the installation is particularly subject to downdrafts, being surrounded by high trees or hills. We also recommend that the fan be installed if you need to install a bend in the vent pipe. All 2000 series units are supplied with a 25 mm drain hose which should be connected to the 25 mm outlet at the bottom of the unit. Click here for information on handling excess liquid. The Centrex 2000 AC / DC features a 370 watt thermostatically controlled heater in a sealed compartment under the unit, and the standard Sun-Mar 30 watt turbo fan, with a 50 mm vent stack to remove the evaporate and fresh odors. This is used when the unit is in AC 240 volt operation. For easy switching between AC and NE mode, the Centrex 2000 AC / DC requires that two vent stacks be installed to handle the separate venting functions. The 50 mm vent is used when the 240 volt AC fan is in operation, and the 100 mm vent is venting the unit passively when there is no AC power available. As an extra option, we include a 12 volt 1.4 Watt fan with the Centrex 2000 AC / DC. You may want to install this fan if the unit is to see heavy usage, and you should definitely install the 12 volt fan if you have any bends in the 100 mm vent pipe, as you will then lose the "chimney effect" advantage of a vertical stack, and will need to provide air movement with the fan. You may install just one vent pipe if you only plan on using one function. If, for example, you do not have 240 volt AC power yet but anticipate getting it in the future, you can install just the 100 mm vent and leave the 50 mm vent capped off. The Centrex 2000 AC / DC is supplied with a 25 mm drain hose which should be connected to the outlet at the bottom of the unit. Click here for information on handling excess liquid. The Centrex 2000 AC / DC may be used with a nature - loo dry pedestal, or one or more Sealand low flush toilets, purchased separately. The Centrex 3000 utilizes a continuous flow design for very heavy cottage or medium residential use. With a continuous flow system, rotation of the drum moves compost along the larger and longer 3000 series drum, before it drops automatically into the collection housing at the end of the unit. Under normal operating conditions the drum will not have to be turned backwards for emptying. All Centrex 3000 electric units feature a 370 watt thermostatically controlled heater in a sealed compartment beneath the unit coupled with the standard Sun-Mar 30 watt turbo fan and 2" vent stack. This heater assists in evaporation of liquids, reducing the amount of effluent from the unit. The fan also removes any fresh odors from the unit, ensuring odor-free operation. All Centrex 3000 series units are supplied with a 1" drain hose which should be connected to the 1" drain at the bottom left of the unit. Click here for more information on handling excess liquid. This unit may be used with a Sealand low flush toilet, purchased separately. In this case, more than one toilet may be installed on this system, as shown in the picture. Sun-Mar offers an optional 1 pint flush toilet for use with regular Centrex 2000 and 3000 series central composting toilet systems. More than one "1 pint flush" toilet can be installed with these units if necessary. The constraint is the number of people using the system rather than the number of toilets. Using about one pint per flush, these ultra low flush toilets provide all the advantages of a flush toilet while minimizing water usage. They are ideal for use with Sun-Mar Central Composting Systems, but can also be used elsewhere with holding tanks, overloaded septic systems, and in RV's. A simple foot pedal flush opens the water valve and gate when pushed down, and fills the bowl with water when lifted. After flushing, a small amount of water is held in the toilet bowl which is sealed by a self-cleaning ball valve and teflon seal. Even gravity - fed water from a roof tank is sufficient to flush a Sealand toilet. They can also be flushed manually using a container if necessary. Two models:The Sealand 510 Plus has a regular sized toilet seat. In some instances extra height is needed to allow the toilet to gravity feed to the composting unit. Where this is the case, the Sealand 511 Plus, a low profile model with a 10" seat height, can be mounted on a platform. For Sun-Mar installations, we recommend the 510 Plus as the unit of choice as it has the size and appearance of a "regular" toilet. Sealand toilets are available in White. They come complete except for the required 75 mm four - bolt floor flange. Sealand 511 Plus - Price: $565 |
