Solazone Custom electric wall-mount roller

Here are some pictures of a new Solazone custom wall-mounted roller being installed on an indoor swimming pool in Carlton, Victoria.

This job mandated an overhead electric wall-mounted roller to be installed in a recessed alcove located above the end of the pool.

The roller is used to retract a silver 4.5mm thick thermal blanket for when the pool is being used.   When the pool is not being used the Daisy thermal cover is lowered to keep the heat in the water.

The operation of the Solazone roller is by a single-button remote control handset, and also by a button on the wall.  The operation is extremely simple to use, and is very safe, being a low-voltage motor.

The Solazone motorised roller works from a small 12-volt battery that is kept charged by a mains adaptor in a nearby powerpoint.  A solar panel for charging the battery was not practical in this case because the location of the roller is remote from anywhere there is sunlight.  The whole house is solar-powered anyway, so the mains adaptor seemed the best option for charging the battery.

This particular swim-spa is a small exercise pool with a powerful swimjet, so maintaining the right temperature is very important.  Without the Daisy thermal blanket and the Solazone electric roller, this would not be possible.
